Today I’m super excited to be joined on The Alden Report by Johnathan Grzybowski. Jonathan is the Chief Marketing Officer and co-founder of Penji which is an on-demand graphic design service making quality graphic design fast, simple and affordable for everyone. Johnathan and his co-founder created Penji after experiencing first-hand how expensive and time consuming graphic design can be for small businesses and startups. Today, Penji’s unlimited graphic design platform provides real-time access to vetted designers which support thousands of brands and agencies worldwide from small startups to nationally known brands such as Rebook, Pepboys, Lyft, 1800-Flowers, and Express.
Jonathan shares his early stage struggles to get the business off the ground by grinding it out day and night and maxing out credit cards. What started as a traditional digital marketing agency barely surviving from day-to-day morphed into the thriving hands-on design business that it is today through patience and by learning to trust the process. The valuable lesson learned is that the real customer process may take you in a different direction than expected and you need to be able to adapt at a moment’s notice.
Penji’s goal is to make an impact, not just an impression. Throughout its growth process, Jonathan has made it a priority of the company to remain true to their values and supportive of their community. To strengthen its community, the company pledges 10% of their monthly profits to help those who are helping others in addition to offering their full design services at a highly discounted rate to qualified non-profits and social-impact startups through their Unlimited programs.
Thank you so much to Johnathan for coming on and joining us this week on The Alden Report.
